Frequently Asked Questions

  • For the first SCSC DayCent training, we are prioritizing commercial and nonprofit/research consortium members for our limited number of seats. We are happy to take names for the waitlist and will offer additional trainings in the near future.

  • This will be a technical training, designed for the beginner/intermediate to ecosystem modeling and R. We will do our best to make the material accessible, however some experience in R is encouraged.

  • We are not offering remote participation at this time, but hope to in the future.

  • You will need to bring your own laptop with a Windows or Linux operating system. Daycent does not have a version available for Apple at the moment.

  • Absolutely! There are lots of accommodations near CSU's campus. Although lodging is not included in your tuition, we can offer a couple of discount codes for nearby hotels.

  • Are you a modeling professional, researcher, or scientist setting up Daycent to simulate an ecosystem at a new site? The optional fourth and fifth days of the Daycent Training is a time for anyone to do a deep-dive into their work with guidance from CSU experts in data science and modeling. We’ll tailor this day to participants’ special needs.

  • The Introduction to Daycent Training tuition gives you three days of intensive learning. Tuition includes coffee + snacks each day. Does not include lodging or transportation.
