Dr. Ames Fowler
Ecosystem Modeler, Soil Carbon Solutions Center
Ames is an ecosystem modeler with experience in processing-based modeling from the field to national scale with a diversity of hydrology, crop yield, and bio-geochemical soil system models. Ames is dedicated to enhancing access, development, technical support, and user training for CSU's state-of-the-art soil system models through the SCSC consortium. Leveraging these advanced tools, we can drive soil-based climate solutions grounded in leading-edge science. Ames’ affinity for the outdoors and agroecosystems fuels his passion for this work.

This will be a technical training, designed for the beginner/intermediate to ecosystem modeling and R. We will do our best to make the material accessible, however some experience in R is required.

No, This time we are only offering this training in person in Fort Collins, CO.

For this SCSC DayCent training, we are prioritizing commercial and nonprofit/research consortium members for our limited number of seats. We are happy to take names for the waitlist and will offer additional trainings in the near future.

You will need to have your own laptop with a Windows or Linux operating system. Daycent does not have a version available for Apple at the moment. We will have laptops available to rent if you need one.

The Introduction to Daycent Training tuition provides you with in-person instruction in a small group setting. This includes staff time (including follow-up project assistance), training materials, coffee, tea and light refreshments. Lodging and travel are not included.
